Making history

My new book, Lilian J. Rice: Architect of Rancho Santa Fe, California is now available for purchase. This is the world's first monograph published on this obscure 20th century master architect. Presales indicate that this book has a broad audience from those who have an interest in architecture, interior design, California history and biography. Also those who own Lilian J. Rice designed homes have been eager to purchase copies for their own collection and for families and friends. With the publication of this important groundbreaking book, Rice will have her rightful, respectful place in our nation's history and Rice homes will increase in stature and value.

Rice and schools

Lilian Rice was influenced by her parents--both were certified teachers. After graduation, Rice took a one year course at U. C. Berkeley in education and in 1911 she herself became a teacher of geometric drawing and mathematics.

Fact Of The Day

Today is January 1st, 2010. It marks a new year, a new decade, and my husband's birthday. It also marks the first day of a series of blog posts that will document publicly various facts pertaining to master architect Lilian J. Rice. This will help scholars to find out never before published facts about Rice, her life, her work, and her influence, information that has been culled during four years of research and is included in my new book "Lilian J. Rice: Architect of Rancho Santa Fe, California" which will release spring 2010.
